Why You Should Live Your Life In The Present Moment

All your, really powers can be found and accessed in the present moment and all that is good happens in the here and now so that's why it is in your very best interests to develop a present moment mindset and focus of attention if you want to be more successful in every area of your life.

Developing a living in the present mindset is all about mindfulness and taking your attention off any thoughts that make you feel bad or cause you to react with fear combined with not reacting negatively or emotionally to external things and situations.

Because life really starts to get good when you enter the free flowing emotional and physical state of inner peace, emotional balance and harmony where your life force energy flows freely around your body and your conscious awareness expands.

You are a vibrational being and when you're in the present your energy vibrates at a high speed of vibration this is also known as the good feeling and relaxed positive emotions.

When you're in a negative state or a state of fear, then your vibration will slow down and your focus of attention will narrow onto survival first instead of enjoyment.

Go With The Flow

We only experience negative emotions when we push against our natural free flowing energy and as a general rule this happens, when we step out of the present moment such as when we allow our imagination to trick us into believing something bad might happen or we have been focusing on things that we don't want.

Every time you worry, you're venturing out of the now as worrying is planning and fearing things going wrong.

Anxiety also results from worrying about the future, but if you’re not thinking about the future then you can’t worry about it.

Anxiety is also triggered by past bad experiences and fearful learned associations, but there is nothing to be gained from torturing yourself and causing yourself emotional pain because you're still emotionally involved in your past.

Learning to keep yourself in the present moment as many positive benefits which include helping you to reduce pain, anxiety, depression and steering clear of negative emotions.

Keeping your mind in the present will also help you avoid feelings of regret or thinking about what you once had but you have now lost.

The main reason why people cannot return to the peace and tranquility of the present is because they are not willing to let go of the things and thoughts that are holding them stuck in a negative state of resistance.

Most people tend to focus on the bad stuff even though there are many amazing things going on around you each day and a limitless amount of positive things and new exciting opportunities to think about.

People just get so caught up in their feelings and they easily become too distracted by their negative thoughts to notice and appreciate the good things that life has to offer.

Adopting a present moment mindset, though will allow you, to live your life, to the fullest and as an added bonus, you will feel great and you will have more enjoyment, but for many however very little of their day is focused on everything but the present moment.

Worrying Is Worst Than A Worthless Waste Of Time

Throughout your day there will be many outside distractions and ongoing problems and issues that you still have not dealt with that can cause you to go internal which take your awareness off the present moment and generate stress and fear.

The key to staying in the peace of the present is to prevent any negative momentum from taking hold and gathering pace.

To do this require being mindful to any bad feeling or negative thoughts which will try and bring you back inside your head causing more conflict of the mind and disruption to the bodies harmony, free flowing energy and balance.

To minimize the negative feelings and to keep the emotional arousal to its shortest duration you will need to keep your awareness externally focused while at the same time you need to remain calm and totally accept and acknowledge your negative thoughts, physical sensations and the unpleasant emotions.

Some of the things that you will need to do to keep you grounded in the here and now is to stay out of your head and to think less and observe more.

It's great to think positive, but it's a bad idea to constantly spend all your time trying to monitor and control all your thoughts and feelings.

So unless your thoughts are positive or good feeling thoughts try to make more of an effort to put most of your attention out into your environment and your current activities or what you're currently doing or working on.

There will be times when you will have to venture into the future, but this should be positive orientated because positive and constructive planning for tomorrow and the future is necessary at times.

If you find yourself worrying about the future or if you begin to feel regret or allow the past to influence you, then you need to just let those thoughts go and bring your attention back into the now.

Because worrying and negative thinking is worse than a worthless waste of time unless it can help you to come up with a solution to your problems which it seldom does, and it can be damaging to your health and well-being.

The holy grail to a happy and successful life is to keep as relaxed as possible in all situations and being present in the here and now is one of the best ways to keep your mind and body calm and relaxed.

When we become outwardly focused on our surroundings and the task we are doing, we will automatically enter the now, this will put you in alignment where you will experience that flow like state. When your in the now everything will start to click and you will become the true authentic you.

How To Engage In The Present Moment

If you have been stuck in a negative mindset for quite some time, then it can be challenging to develop a present moment mindset because your old patterns of negative thinking will try and pull you back into a negative feeling state, so it's important that you keep' practicing and working at it.

You're not going to go from thinking mainly negative thoughts to having a positive and present mindset in a week, but if you continue to work at it, then your efforts will be worth it and after practicing and being mindful for a month or two it will become more natural, automatic and habitual.

With all that's going on in your life and around you there are going to be many daily distractions and things that annoy and frustrate you, the thing to remember is that you cannot always control people, events and situations.

However, you do have the freedom to choose the way you wish to respond and bare in mind it is far better to feel good, than it is to try and please and satisfy your ego all the time.

Most of your distractions will have been associated with the past and future, your job, finances and other people.

But when you stop allowing yourself to become frustrated, angry, stressful, negative and fearful by bringing your attention back onto the now then you will find that life and everything else will start to improve bit by bit.

As you practice being mindful and developing a present moment mindset it will get easier for you. Try not to get in a battle and struggle with your thoughts and feelings, people try to stop, control or deal with their thoughts and feelings, but that just drains your energy and leaves you feeling more frustrated and disempowered.

It is far better to accept that you will have unwanted thoughts and unpleasant feelings at times, but if you practice letting these thoughts freely come and go whilst you stay calm and externally focused. then you will have far less emotional arousal and stress and in time you will have less of those negative and unwanted thoughts.

Some things you can do to bring you back into the here and now are

  • Read a book or browse the internet
  • Go for walks and observe nature or your surroundings, look at the trees, plants, clouds, wildlife and the landscape
  • Take your attention of yourself and listen to what others are saying
  • Meditate, because this is a great way to dump your troubles and bring you back into the now
  • Visit or phone your family and friends
  • Take up new hobbies and interests
  • Observe, more and think less
  • Start a blog or website or take part in social media sites
  • Watch a movie or your favourite TV programs
  • Talk to people and socialize more

Many people are living their life in survival mode where they are constantly worrying about the future and things going wrong, which causes them to endless and needless stress and anxiety or their past bad experiences will fuel a barrage of fearful and unwanted troublesome thoughts.

You cannot enjoy the peace and freedom of the here and now until you learn how to become the master of your thoughts, feelings and emotions.

But it's not the situations that are the problem because all the danger and fear is linked to the thoughts and images so it's those unwanted negative and anxious thoughts that you need to learn how to manage and once you learn how to manage your thoughts you will master your emotions and from then on your life will get a whole lot better.
